Automotive Lighting Manufacturing Process Overview

The manufacturing process of automotive lights includes injection molding and subsequent processing, such as PC hardening and vacuum metallization, culminating in quality inspection and assembly. The main steps in automotive lighting manufacturing are as follows: First, plastic particles or BMC raw materials are added to the injection molding machine barrel, heated and melted, and then injected into a specific mold for molding. After molding, the product is trimmed and then undergoes further processing according to product requirements, such as PC hardening, BMC base coating, or vacuum metallization, to enhance its reflective effect. Finally, the various components are assembled with purchased parts, ensuring every detail is perfect. After rigorous quality inspection, the product is packaged and stored.

Key Production Steps
Injection-molded products require strict quality inspection to ensure compliance with standards. Every step is crucial, from dissolving plastic particles to injection molding, and finally to inspection and packaging; all must be precise.

BMC Injection Molding Process
BMC injection molding is mainly used in the manufacture of automotive light reflectors. Its raw material is injection-molded thermosetting material, namely BMC. In the BMC injection molding process, BMC material undergoes high-temperature cross-linking to form plastic. After injection molding, it is manually trimmed. Products that pass inspection are then shipped as finished products.

Plastic Particle Injection Molding Process

Plastic particles are heated and injected to form a preliminary shape, which is then trimmed after cooling. In this process, plastic particles are first added to the hopper of an integrated injection molding machine. After electric heating, the plastic particles begin to melt at high temperatures and are then injected into a specific mold for shaping.

Vacuum Metallization Process: Vacuum metallization enhances the surface reflectivity of plastic parts through aluminum vapor deposition. This process is carried out in a vacuum metallization machine and is mainly used for metallizing the surfaces of focusing rings and reflectors.
